It’s septemBER Aka the start of Christmas season in the Philippines!! ♡♡ here’s a little Christmas sotry from last year to celebrate:
I love christmas. And one of my JTA Passau bucket list items was to have a Christmas with a REAL christmas tree. See, we only have coconut trees here.
One of the most frustrating things about being a student abroad is that you have no car, and when you want to bring a 40 kilo Christmas tree home from the umm tree shop, this can turn out to be a big problem. So it was time to review the options:
(a) Pay 20 euros to have it delivered to your door, (b) Find some hunky dude to help lil ‘ol me, or (c) Girl power.
Since I’m poor and all my b’s were unavailable and nonexistent, plan C was chosen and lovely Janka decided to join in my show of female muscle.
We spent the night in tears dragging this beauty home, a looooong uphill to the bus station then a looooooong downhill then upthestairs to my room.
Of course when all was said and done I then had the prettiest tree in all of town, but something was missing.
It didn’t make it feel like Christmas because though it had the piney scent I’d been dreaming of, Christmas to me was the stocked up bodega smell of an unwrapped yearlong-stored plastic pine tree, and nothing could replace that, not even snow. ♡
